who we are

The Disabled Children's Trust is a non profit making organisation (recognised by the charities commission as a small charity), run, managed and staffed by trustees and volunteers who do not receive a wage, remuneration or commission therefore allowing over 90 pence of every £1 donated to go directly to helping disabled and handicapped children. The trust is also registered at Companies House as a Charity under the number 6933058.

Originally formed to help disabled and handicapped children from birth to 18 years in a Bulgarian orphanage, which has now been thankfully closed and the children have been moved to a modern building and they are all getting proper care and support. Although the charity still has close links with Bulgarian orphanages, a decision has been taken to help disabled and handicapped children of the same age group throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, & Humberside. Our office being centrally situated in this area in the town of Goole.

When The Disabled Children's Trust was established, one of the most important factors was that the charity will and does donate goods or services, as and where needed to any disabled or handicapped child. The Trust consider this very important and therefore does not donate sums of money under any circumstances thus ensuring the help and assistance that they can provide goes to those who need it most, namely the children.
